What Is Edge Bevel Board and how do I use it?
Edge bevel board is ideal for photographic portrait presentation. ParaMount Bevel Edge Mounting boards are extremely thick and have an excellent quality surface. The beveled gold edge resists flaking during the mounting process, and are always precisely cut and consistently square.
Photo prints must first be accurately cut to the top board top dimensions, ideally using a roller trimmer. Begin by tacking dry-mount tissue to the back of the print and utilize the roller trimmer to cut the print and tissue together. After acquiriing dimensions of different bevel board sizes, simply mark the scale on the roller trimmer with tape and cut based on tape placements. Due to the manufacturing consistency of these bevel edge mounting boards. cut tend to stay consistent again and again. If there is a slight tolerance variation, small slivers may be removed with the roller cutter until your perfect fit is achieved! Once trimmed, just stick it in the mount press- and your done!
Bevel boards may also be incorporated into finished framing as well. Simply glue bevel edge mounted prints to a fabric or matte board background to create a new finished piece. Once the background is framed, the beveled edge of the print will resemble a classic filet frame styling. Think of this process as an under-matting versus over-matting.
